The sunny people of Suntoy gave us a solar car and a fan to build at Scope X 2014 at our Astronomy Club. We have club meetings every Thursday. This week we built the solar fan and spoke about the different colors on the sun’s surface.
Thank you so much to Suntoy for investing in us. Keep up the good work!
We have a very busy week ahead of us! Some of us will visit the WITS planetarium whilst others will visit SciBono. Then there is the rocket launch on Wednesday! We will keep you posted.

I am a teacher from South Africa and at our Astronomy club we are going to discuss the sun and solar power for the next few weeks. We are going to record the times of sunrise and sunset from Tuesday 16 September until Tuesday 23 September. Please take part and tell us where you are and the time of sunrise and sunset in your area. We will let you know at what time it was with us each day.
Anyone can take part and you don’t need to post every day. Join us and be part of the fun.

Thank you so much 🙂
This is a question I’ve wandered about for a long time. I’ve stumbled upon this article “How does the job of teacher compare around the world?” Unfortunately South Africa is not on the list but my personal facts are that there are 40 learners per class in my school. I see 5 classes per day so that is 200 learners per day that I see. Please leave a comment and tell me about your situation.
I’ve just come across this great website: http://www.onniesonline.co.za. I specifically looked at their Social Sciences page. It is really worth a look. Enjoy!
